ON TOP OF EVERYTHING LIFE IS THROWING AT YOU, AN INJURY CAN MAKE YOU LOOSE YOUR USUAL FIGHTING SPIRIT. HERE IS A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE TO TAKE.

It's completely normal to want to give up on all of your normal activity when you get injured. You might even sink into a slight depression due to your inactivity. Maybe you feel a little defeated - aside from work, personal, and miscellaneous demands - now you can't even do your usual fitness or active lifestyle routine that helps you cope.

Just remember that it's OK to rest, and important for the healing process. But also remember that there is a lot of modifications you can make to your daily workout so that you can work around your injury, keep your body moving, and that dopamine flowing!

ATHLETES ARE THE MOST COMMONLY INJURED PEOPLE, SO DON'T FEEL ASHAMED OF YOUR INJURY! IT IS PART OF BEING A VERY ACTIVE PERSON.

How we deal with our injury however, is where we learn if we are truly fit!

Injuries can teach us so much, if we take time to study and learn from them. It can teach you how to avoid re-injury, but also what might have been weak so we know what needs our focus. As instructors, we learn how to relate to other people who may have restricted movement, or pain in a whole new way!

When our body is already hurting, we need to control the rest - primarily, the state of mind! Be proactive, adapt your activity and get back at it as soon as you've had a few days to rest. Also make sure you eat healthy (no precessed foods) so you heal as fast as possible, avoid sugar and alcohol as much as possible to reduce the inflammation, and you will soon be back to your usual self, conquering the world like a #BOSS, one day at a time!
